Ok. So. After my mini twitter party last nite (watching & tweeting Project Runway), I carved out a huge chunk of the mountain of laundry that was sitting in the laundry room gathering dust. I was chiseling until a landslide of exhaustion swept over me around 2 AM.
Why wait until laundry piles up to mountainous proportions? Why stay up ‘til 2 AM to get it (or most of it) done? If you’re asking yourself these questions, you obviously don’t know the real Flutiemcd. It’s just the way I roll, baby.
The truth is, I don’t know why I do it. Really. I don’t. There’s less than 20 hours until Tim, the maguai and I have to board a flight to our beloved D-town. Not so bad. This I can handle. But! BUT! Tim’s on a Friday night, double trauma call—which means he’ll probably not come home until the wee hours of the morning, and only because Mary was so nice to take his AM rotation so we could actually make the trip.
All this to do and here I am writing. It’s pretty bad when I use this as a procrastination tool.
So the point I wanted to eventually get to today is that my NYC gurlfran and I have decided to start a Twitter book club. I’m so excited. You don’t even know! There have been numerous failed attempts at this, and finally, FINALLY! it’s going to happen!
We’ll be reading and tweeting our reactions to David Ebershoff’s The 19th Wife starting on Monday, March 22, 2010. If you’d like to join the par-tay, and I hope you do. You can follow us on Twitter, our handles: @pluslily and @flutiemcd.
